Since the first edition in 1994, there have been ten different winners of the PDC World Darts Championship. Christopher Kempf, who deals with statistics, has now made an analysis of their averages at major tournaments throughout their careers.
Amongst other things, we see that Michael van Gerwen achieved his highest averages between 2015 and 2017. Reigning world champion Peter Wright had his highest average in 2020, the year he became world champion for the first time. Phil Taylor had the highest average of all time in 2009. The Power had an average of 104.
