Following the disappointment of his Premier League Darts snub,
Luke Humphries has been speaking about what his main motivations are in the coming year. Winning a first major title being the standout ambition.
Speaking to Red Dragon Darts following the UK Open, Cool Hand Luke is open and honest about his darting career. "I still haven't got that major title yet," he laments. "But it says a lot to be world number 5 without a major title. When you do win one that's huge ranking money that gets on there and I haven't had one of them big wins yet so to be where I am I think is a good compliment to myself and shows my consistency."
"I believe that big win is around the corner," Humphries continues. Of course the 28-year-old is a former world youth champion and a four time winner on the European Tour but that major tv title still eludes him. "It took Michael Smith a long time to get that big win and it might take me a long time but the way I feel, I believe it will be sooner rather than later."
"It's what I want and until get it I'm going to keep going. Whether it takes me 20 years or 30 years I'll keep going until it happens," Humpries concludes.
