Van Barneveld claims outright spot in Final Stage on Day Three at European Q-School

Raymond van Barneveld was already certain of making it through to the Final Stage through the Order of Merit but he confirmed his spot outright on Wednesday.

Van Barneveld reached the latter stages on the previous two days so could have in theory taken the day off to rest up ahead of Sunday but the five-time World Champion decided to play all three days and it paid dividends.

The Dutch legend eased past Erwin Ziermeier 6-0 in the first round before pinning a 102 average against compatriot Dennie Olde Kalter.

Following that, victories over Mindaugas Barauskas (6-1) and Kenny Neyens (6-2) followed to claim a spot.

From Thursday to Saturday it is the turn of the second group at the European Q-School. The final phase will start on Sunday and Tour Cards will then be distributed.

The full list of winners will be confirmed shortly so follow the Live Blog below.
