Raymond van Barneveld will compete this weekend at the
Baltic Sea Darts Open with James Wade up first followed by maybe Peter Wright.
Van Barneveld went to Target HQ before heading to Kiel and was pleased with his solid qualifying form so far this year.
"Really looking forward as last year it was really bad, I only qualified three times for a
European Tour out of 13. I managed the first two three tournaments out of five so I'm really pleased as I want to focus as I want to go to the World Matchplay and the World Grand Prix to play more major tournaments so I'm pretty happy to be there and maybe we can go all the way why not," said Van Barneveld to Target.
The caveat of playing on TV in Holland also appeals to 'Barney' and as does the top 16 as his next goal.
"I'm dreaming about lifting a trophy again, if you can't dream it's hard. I was dreaming to lift trophies and push myself harder for next time. But Pro Tours you can't win trophies, money is still good but at the European Tour, you're playing in front of 1,000's and now it's going to be on TV in Holland which is good. These are great venues and the Germans really love the darts and hope they love Barney as well."
"I am focusing on two years time on being top 16 but a lot of hard work has to be done."
