Van Barneveld speculates about comeback: 'Despite five world titles, I feel it's not finished yet'

Raymond van Barneveld retired from the PDC circuit after the 2019 PDC World Darts Championship, but he may return in the future.

The Dutchman lost in the first round of the 2019 World Championship to Darin Young. Since then he has been living on income from sponsorship contracts and exhibition matches and tournaments.

However, a return to the professional circuit is not out of the question. ''People often ask about it and I'm not going to say 'no' out loud, "Van Barneveld told RTL Boulevard. ''In my system I didn't really finish it. Despite five world titles it is gnawing."

To return to the PDC circuit, Barney must first obtain a Tour Card through the Q-School. He then has to qualify for the majors via the floor tournaments. That does not have to be an obstacle for him. "Not for next year, but if it ever starts itching again, I will not immediately say 'no'."
