Van Gerwen after hard-fought draw against Van den Bergh in Premier League opener: "There's more to come"

Michael van Gerwen claimed a hard-fought draw against Dimitri van den Bergh to begin his 2021 Premier League Darts campaign.

A brilliant 101 finish saw Van Gerwen break and snatch a point with Van den Bergh waiting on 64 to win.

He spoke afterwards and was indifferent about his display but was confident that there was more to come during the Premier League.

"You can never be happy with only a point. I can blame myself in a couple of legs there but overall I think Dimitri played a good game as well," said Van Gerwen to Sky Sports post match.

"On my own legs, I have to do some more scoring power and if you don't do that, you can only blame yourself for that. But overall I can't be too unhappy with my game, I played ok but of course there's more in the tank, there's more to come."

"I feel I'm starting to do some good damage with my new darts and I start to play well with them but you have to show it on the stage. You aren't allowed to afford any mistakes."
