Michael van Gerwen has kept his Premier League play-off hopes alive defeating his rival Gary Anderson in an 8-6 victory and he was confident post match after an excellent result.
Van Gerwen said that other players don't want him in the Premier League play-offs due to his prowess over multiple games on one night.
"I was over the moon, especially when I was 6-6 I had to do something really well to win this game; and I'm really glad I was also able to do it and I hope I can do some more damage tomorrow. The only thing I regret was that I missed too many darts at double; but at least I'm still going and I feel confident," said Van Gerwen post match to Online Darts.
"You need to get the positives out of the game and that's really important to myself at this stage. I still need some other players not to do well in this Premier League for me to qualify for the Last Four; and I think they are praying for me not to get to the last 4."
"They know what I am capable of in a Final Day, I can do some really good damage; but I first have to do some damage tomorrow."
On his slump as sorts, he admitted it hasn't been the best period in his career but that he has shown a lot of fight in his performances: "It's been tough but that's darts unfortunately. It's how you handle it; and I think I handled it quite well and even with all the pressure on my shoulders, I'm still capable of beating Gary (Anderson)."
