"It was my cousin that arranged that because I used to have little motorcycles when I was younger and there was a little kids program called Mighty Mouse and after that they called me Mighty," said Van Gerwen to the PDC.
Legendary takeaway orders
One of the other questions was about his legendary takeaway orders and he revealed he doesn't like to just have one order and likes to pick and choose.
"I like to nip from everything a little bit. It's not that I order one starter, one main. Three starters and two mains. So I can pick and choose, not that I will eat it but sometimes I don't know what I'm going to get so I get them both."
His biggest rival arguably has been Peter Wright and Van Gerwen said he likes him as a person off the oche.

"I do like him as a person. But when he talks about darts, everyone knows what he's like. But no he's not a bad guy definitely not."
Pulling his socks up
One aspect of his game that is duly noted is pulling up his socks which many people see as the start of a kick in a match but for him, there is no reason why it happens.
"I used to click with my watch. Not that I think I'm going to pull my socks up, you just do it. It just happens, maybe get your mind off your darts, maybe nerves. I don't know."
