Van Tergouw signs with The Sportsman Management Company

Justin van Tergouw has signed with The Sportsman Management Company ran by Mac Elkin who look after the likes of Dimitri van den Bergh, Glen Durrant, Jose de Sousa and James Wade among others.

Van Tergouw as a teenager was seen as a star in the making winning the World Youth Masters and World Youth Championship titles in the BDO both back to back.

With his trajectory and nationality, many compared him to Michael van Gerwen and expected him to become the next darting superstar.

But shortly after that, an injury hampered his progress and his progress was further delayed like many due to the COVID-19 pandemic. Now though the aim is to gain his Tour Card and kick on.

“I would like to thank Mac and his team for this opportunity and believing in me," said Van Tergouw.

“My ambition is to get a tour card and become a professional darts player. That has been my dream since I was 6-years old.

“I hope Mac [Elkin] can take me to the next level as he is a top manager.

“Once upon a time, I was a back to back World Youth Champion so it would be a nice thing to achieve in the Mens."

“I am incredibly thrilled about Justin coming on board," said Mac Elkin.

“He is a player I’ve watched develop for many years and it’s great to see him return to the game after a spell on the sidelines - I’ve always been interested in signing him from day one.

“I’m confident that under our guidance, together with the wealth of experienced players in the stable who can offer him support and encouragement, Justin can fulfil his ambitions.

“Here at TSMC, we have a number of brilliant young players who show enormous potential. Now having Justin as part of that group is exciting.

“There is absolutely no doubting his talent. It’s now a case of showing the world of darts just what he can do."
