Gian van Veen has won the 23rd tournament of the PDC Development Tour. Van Veen was 5-4 too strong for Luke Littler in the final.
Van Veen and Littler never conceded more than one leg to each other in a particularly exciting final. Eventually the ninth and last leg had to bring the decision and both men had a hard time finishing it off. In nineteen arrows it was Van Veen who took the victory.
The 21-year-old Dutchman, who has already won six titles this year, thus remains in the lead in the Development Tour standings by a street length. Littler follows in second place already more than 3,000 pounds from Van Veen.
In third place in the standings we find another Dutchman with Wessel Nijman. Nijman stranded on Development Tour 23 in the quarterfinals against Van Veen. Best Belgian in this tournament was Rune Van Damme, who lost 5-1 to Littler in the semifinals.
The 24th tournament of the Development Tour will also be played later today.
