Michael van Gerwen has many accolades to his name, but one of them he hasn't sealed is a double start nine-dart finish. But in crazy scenes at the 2023 World Grand Prix, he went close to hitting it twice in quick succession.

The first time was during the first set with Dobey 2-0 up and heading towards the set win.
He went 160, 180 and then had a go at 161. But went so close to hitting the bullseye.
But the luck wasn't in from there as he won the leg, but lost the set to 'Hollywood',
In the second set though, he went a different route and went even closer. He went 160, 174 and 170 and missed the bull again. But this time on the other hand, Dobey did not go on to win the set.
Van Gerwen had to come back with an answer after losing the opening set and at times during the second, he just had to watch on in true and utter awe as Van Gerwen went berzerk.
But he will not go away with a nine-dart finish yet. If he does, it would be only the fourth in World Grand Prix history. Stay tuned as it could yet happen during this match against the Masters champion.
