Peter Wright didn't have much success on Thursday night ad the Premier League Darts travelled to Liverpool, losing in the quarter-finals to Michael van Gerwen. Nevertheless, the former World champion did endear himself to those in attendance with a special walk on.
His usual entrance music of "Don't Stop The Party" by Pitbull was initially kicked in by the technicians, but it was abruptly cut off after a few seconds. This turned out not to be a mistake, but a deliberate choice. Suddenly, "Yellow Submarine" by The Beatles was being played. It was a clear nod to The Beatles' roots. Wright was also wearing a shirt with a number of submarines printed on it.
