Michael van Gerwen claimed victory over Ross Smith in a 5-2 win to go to the top of Group A at the Grand Slam of Darts.
Van Gerwen attempted to win the match brilliantly as well going straight for the bullseye when going for the win.
Despite that, he still went on to win and admitted afterwards that it was only to get his average up as opposed to done on purpose to annoy Smith.
