Visa problems and family time behind lack of participation in UK Open for Perez

Christian Perez surprisingly won a PDC Tour Card at the Q-School in January, but the Filipino darter has not yet been able to take advantage of it. He is also not competing in the UK Open at the beginning of March.

Because players can earn prize money, and thus an income, at PDC tournaments, players settling in the UK need a visa.

Speaking to AsianDarts, Perez reveals that obtaining a long-term visa is proving more difficult than previously thought. The situation on the home front is another reason for staying at home. Perez has children to look after and it is difficult for him to leave them behind.
