James Wade eased through his opening tie at the 2020/21
PDC World Darts Championship with victory over Callan Rydz.
Wade spoke afterwards and admitted he was pleased to get through and does have confidence going into the next few weeks at the Alexandra Palace.
"I was steady in the end. I was fortunate I got that shot at the ton plus so onwards and upwards," said Wade post match.
"As dart players we're all full of excuses. I'm happy to just about get through my game and look forward to the next one."
"I think enthusiasm is the right word. I'm enjoying things and I'm surrounded by great people which is a bloody great head start."
"I know if I play the best darts I can play, I win this quite comfortably. If I don't do that, I play mediocre and I'm out so I just do my thing and if I can upset a few players and do that right thing at the right time, who knows."
