"We have Michael van Gerwen, but Luke is also going to compete at the top": Christian Kist marvels at super talent Luke Littler after defeat

Christian Kist failed to qualify for the second round of PDC World Darts Championship. 'The Lipstick' went down 3-0 in his opening match against Luke Littler.

Kist lost to an unleashed Littler who averaged over 106. The barely 16-year-old Englishman only allowed Kist two legs. "We have Van Gerwen, but I think he's also going to compete at the top for years," Kist told AD.nl.

"What was I doing at 16? I was still playing soccer," Kist continued. "The very toughest draw? I think so, yes. You can so name twenty names that you would rather have had here. Maybe I hoped he would succumb to the pressure because of all the attention, but he didn't suffer from that, haha. Oh well, sometimes it's with us, sometimes it's against us."

Reaching the World Championship was already a success for Kist, as the 37-year-old Dutchman does not currently have a Tour Card, but managed to qualify for the World Championship through some strong performances on the Pro Tour.
