The Dutchman had already achieved success on Friday by winning two tournaments. Nijman defeated Jannes Bremermann (4-3), Xymen Dobbelaere (4-0), Viktor Tingstrom (4-3) Jakub Janaszkiewicz (4-0), Cole Davey (4-3), Beau Greaves (5-4) and Dominik Gruellich (5-4). He was then too strong for Jack Male in the final, 5-2.
With this tournament victory, Nijman strengthened his leading position on the PDC Development Tour Order of Merit, which at the end of the season entitles him to participate in the Grand Slam of Darts and the PDC World Darts Championship.
The Development Tour is the youth circuit of the PDC. This tour is open to players ages 16 through 23. Players who turn 24 during the season may continue to compete.
At each Development Tour tournament, there is a prize pool of 15,000 pounds to be divided. With the prize money, a ranking is established. At the end of the season, the numbers one and two receive an invitation to the World Darts Championship, plus a Tour Card for 2025 and 2026.
