Simon Whitlock is through to the second round after thrashing Adrian Lewis 6-1 in the opening session of action at the European Championship in Gottingen.
For Whitlock he said that he's been practising hard; as well as working on his game so as far as he is concerned anything can happen.
He spoke confidently about beating Lewis; as well as that he was even confident after losing to Michael Smith at the World Grand Prix.
'I've got some history with Adrian (Lewis) here, I've lost in the final to him so yeah payback is pretty good,' said Whitlock to LiveDarts.
'I've been practising hard, I've been working on my game so anything can happen. I've got history here, this has been one of my favourite tournaments. I've had some very good results.'
'I did expect to win tonight but Adrian missed a lot of doubles. Even after losing to Michael (Smith), I felt confident even though I should have won that match.'
