"Why should I accept disrespectful things?'' - Ricardo Pietreczko threatens public boycott at World Darts Championship

Ricardo Pieterczko will play his very first match at the World Darts Championship on Tuesday, Dec. 19. In his debut match, he will play Mikuru Suzuki, the second female participant at Alexandra Palace after Fallon Sherrock.

Pietereczko does not have fond memories of encounters with the female gender on darts big stages. At the Grand Slam of Darts recently, he not only had to face Beau Greaves, but also the public. The fans treated him to a lot of boos, and in the end Pietreczko lost 5-1 to Greaves.

Pieterczko's reaction to this was to completely ignore the crowd in his subsequent match against Nathan Aspinall. This was already evident during his walk-on, where he walked right past the fans. To German commentator Elmar Paulke, Pietreczko explained that he wanted to make a statement at the time.

Speaking to Bild, Pietreczko revealed that he is threatening to boycott the public again if a similar reception awaits him against Suzuki. ''If they don't want to see me, then I don't understand why I have to accept such disrespectful things. It is absurd,'' Pietreczko stated.

The German, however, hopes it doesn't have to come to that. Pietreczko, on the contrary, is usually known as a joker on stage. ''I just want to be myself on stage,'' 'Pikachu' said.
