Luke Humphries got to collect the trophy for winning the weekly title after night six of the
Premier League Darts in Brighton on Thursday night.
The reigning world champion proved a class act when visiting the southern English city. Humphries won 6-2 over Gerwyn Price in his first match with an average of 105.50. This was followed by a 6-3 win over Rob Cross with 113.71 average. In the final, Humphries dealt with Michael Smith (6-3), averaging 'only' 101.04.
Afterwards, Humphries expressed gratitude to his girlfriend. "Without her I wouldn’t be able to perform at the level I am, to keep up with the tough PDC schedule'', Sportsboom noted from the mouth of the world number one.
The Englishman praised her understanding and sacrifices, especially around raising their son. “Honestly, all the credit goes to my girlfriend. She could easily have me up at 6:00 AM looking after my son who wakes up at that time and she allows me to sleep in, so she understands the importance. She works incredibly hard at home. I work incredibly hard at darts. So, for me, I feel like that's important”, Humphries added.
