World Series of Darts Finals in Amsterdam gets expansion; extra session and more participants

The World Series of Darts Finals will be bigger and better than ever before in 2024. The tournament, to be held in Amsterdam from Sept. 13 to 15, will have an extra session and more participants.

The field of participants will be expanded from 24 to 32 players. In addition, there will now also be Saturday afternoon play. There are now a total of five sessions; one on Friday, two on Saturday and two on Sunday.

With the expansion, the PDC wants to allow more international players to participate in the World Series Finals. The PDC has also announced that the prize money on offer is also going up, but will not release an exact breakdown of this until later.

It will be the fifth time the World Series of Darts Finals has been held in the Dutch capital. Michael van Gerwen won the tournament in 2023 by defeating Nathan Aspinall 11-4 in the final.
