Wright on keeping Premier League play-off hopes alive: "If I don't make it through, I'm going to upset a lot of people on the way"

Peter Wright continued his slim hopes of making it through to the Premier League play-offs with an 8-5 win over Dimitri van den Bergh.

This featured a 102.82 average, 57% on the doubles and a high checkout of 116 as he continued to play with freedom but even then he wasn't pleased with his display.

"I'm on the high with the crowds back and it's amazing again but I didn't play as well as I wanted to but I've done enough," said Wright post match.

"I've sat there playing Phil Taylor, Gary Anderson and MVG going right let's win the next six legs and I do it. When I get a little thing in the back in my mind, just get a little focus."

He also added that it feels like a big tournament again with crowds being back and that he will ruffle some feathers if he doesn't make it through.

"Like yesterday, it felt like a knockout game, it felt like a big competition. It felt like the Matchplay, today same again. Against Jonny, I'm not going to play as rubbish as last time."

"If I don't make it through to the last four, I'm going to upset a lot of people on the way through."
