''You used to get a blow to the brain" - Raymond van Barneveld on darts' attitude change to double-double finishes

Nowadays you see more and more players opt for a double double route when finishing. For example, when a player is on 100 and the first dart enters the single 20.

As one of the more experienced players on the professional circuit, Raymond van Barneveld can remember times when players would think twice before undertaking such an endeavor.

''You used to get a blow to the brain, believe me,'' Van Barneveld laughed during his analysis at Viaplay. The 56-year-old Dutchman did see it pass in his early years.

''I once experienced it in the pub in The Hague with competition. Then your opponent did that, well that was not appreciated. That was a form of embarrassment. It used to be really 'not done'. Now everybody does it,'' said the five-time world champion.
