Sorensen won his first ever WDF title in the men's event. The Dane had lost to Xanti van den Bergh in the final of the Swedish Open on Saturday, but proved successful a day later. He successively defeated Mats Andersson (4-0), Antony Allen (4-1), Ivan Madsen (4-1), Petri Rasmus (4-1), Johan Engstrom (4-2), Thomas Junghans (5-2) and Liam Maendl-Lawrance (6-5).
In the women's tournament it was the numbers one and three on the placement list who made it to the final. Aileen de Graaf lived up to her status as number one by reaching the final with wins over Anna Hlavova (4-0), Jojo Rolls (4-1), Priscilla Steenbergen (4-2) and Kirsi Viinikainen. Kirsty Hutchinson became the other finalist by defeating Kirstine Christensen (4-3), Christiane Muzik (4-1), Lerena Rietbergen (4-2) and Greta Tekauer (4-0). The final then turned out to be a 5-3 triumph for Hutchinson.
