Last weekend saw the Dutch Open Darts take place and as a result the WDF Rankings were updated post tournament with Jelle Klaasen ending last season and continuing the new one as World Number One.
This ahead of Neil Duff, James Hurrell, Andy Baetens who is up to fourth after his run to the final and Haupai Puha rounding out the top five.
Berry van Peer catapulted into a provisional spot for this years' tournament and sealed qualification for next year's tournament automatically with the start of the two year rolling ranking system.
Albeit the seedings for this year's Lakeside will be based off the positions in the rankings so Klaasen would be top seed but Van Peer sits 32nd after winning the tournament. This in turn sees him into one of the final spots with multiple players off the rankings now due to switches to the PDC.
