Matt Clark and Paul Hogan are the first two men who have secured a spot in the last eight at the World Seniors Darts Masters in Sunderland. They return to the stage Saturday afternoon for the quarterfinals.
Clark advanced a round by dealing with Lisa Ashton. 'Superman' did fall behind 2-0 early in the match, after Ashton managed to win the first two sets both 2-1.
The tipping point was the third leg of set three, in which Clark threw a 21-darter to win his first set. Clark then managed to win sets four and five without a loss of leg. After two legs in the sixth set, the score was 1-1 before Clark produced a 17-darter for the win.
Hogan advanced to the quarterfinals at the World Seniors Darts Masters at the expense of Glen Durrant. After Durrant missed a lot of set chances in the first set, the set went to Hogan with a 23-darter.
Durrant then evened the score by winning the second set, but could not take a single leg after that. Hogan won six legs in a row to make the final score 4-1.
