"There is only one word for Bob, legend": Howson pays tribute after retiring Anderson

Richie Howson comfortably secured progression to the quarter-finals of the World Seniors Darts Masters. 'The Owl' defeated the legendary Bob Anderson 4-0, bringing an end to his career.

"It wasn't a great game to play in," Howson tells Online Darts in a post-match interview. "It was surreal really. It was quiet, I wanted to win I wanted to play well. I wanted to celebrate but it just didn't seem right."

"There is only one word for Bob, legend," continues Howson, giving glowing praise to the 1988 World Darts Champion. "He has been a real legend and it was a real honour to play against him up there."

After navigating that potential banana skin, Howson is now up against the reigning WDF Champ, Neil Duff. "I play like I can and anything can happen," Howson says. "I'll be trying my hardest to win this one."
