"I'm not really looking to do Q school again" - Steve West content despite losing PDC Tour Card

Steve West lost his PDC Tour Card early this year. He's still playing though and recently, he was active in the MODUS Super Series 4, where he managed to win the fifth week of play.

West already has a long career behind him and has beaten the likes of Phil Taylor, Michael van Gerwen and Michael Smith on the big stage. It's actually a loss that is his career highlight though. "Go back to 2007 with Scott Waites, the final of the Dutch Open. That was massive, 4,000 entries so to get to the final was brilliant."

Earlier this year, West lost his Tour Card after 11 years with the PDC. "I honestly thought I'd be devastated when I lost my tour card, and truth is I'm not. There's two reasons for that. Number 1, I'm waiting for my hip replacement so I didn't do Q school for that reason mainly. Then number 2, I'm not really looking to do Q school again."

"This sort of thing takes the pressure off and gives you access to a lot more darts," West continued. "We've all got debts and stuff. But I think I've put too much pressure on it because I saw that as a little bit of an out. Not this time, this time it's just play darts and enjoy it."
