Rob Cross has said that still there are times it is sinking in that he is where he is in a recent interview with LiveDarts. This was done at a recent event called the SAP Cup.
Rob Cross was facing
Phil Taylor in a
re-match of the World Championship final and once again it was 'Voltage' that came out on top. He won 10-8 and spoke afterwards about his routine as well as playing against Taylor.
"There's times when I literally have to pinch myself to realise this is happening. It’s been such a tornado of a six months or so, I think it’s still sinking in." Cross told
LiveDarts.
"That's not affecting my game whatsoever. The only thing that has troubled me is losing my routine but I've sorted that.
Your biggest rival is not any of the players, it’s the fatigue. This year is my learning curve and how I deal with the extra pressure of travelling and being away from my family.
"Phil was unbelievable. He managed to do all this for 30 years. This is only really my second full year and it’s a shock to the system, trust me."
"Phil will always be hard to beat, no matter how old he is or how much he’s been away from the game.
The only thing that is stopping him being at the very top is the travelling, not because he hasn’t got the talent. He would still win majors this year, no doubt about it.''
