Gerwyn Price edges past Corey Cadby and Gary Anderson smashes through protegé Chris Dobey

Gerwyn Price edged past Corey Cadby in a match that lived up to it's billing as having fireworks and tension apletny with him coming through in a deciding leg 6-5. It included lots of big celebrations right in the faces of each other and will play Gary Anderson in the Quarter-Finals tomorrow.
Anderson won through after smashing his protegé Chris Dobey who was taught a lesson by the master in a masterclass from the 'Flying Scotsman' who hit a tournament best 103.5 average and hit 75% of his doubles. Dobey hit four 180's but missed multiple doubles and as a result paid for it.

- I dont like individuals or crowds trying to put any player off when they are trying to check out, how anyone can think its okay for the crowd to whistle or shout as someone is throwing for a double is beyond me but it does seem to have become part and parcel of the modern game. I no longer play now, darts is as good as dead at a local level round my way but when i did play many years ago, no matter how intense the rivalry you never shouted out or whistled when an opponent from the other team was throwing for a double.Mysstree17-11-2024
