Michael Smith pulled out a shock whitewash win over Raymond van Barneveld last night in the Premier League. The ‘Bully Boy’ cemented his playoff hopes as a result going into the second half of the season.
Smith spoke afterwards admitting the hard work is still paying off and that he is just glad to get past Judgement Night as he starts to focus on a top four place.
"My finishing went really well but I'll take my first whitewash in the Premier League," said Smith.
"It shows that the hard work's still paying off. I've not been playing well in the Premier League but I've still been winning. It had to come some time and I'm glad it came today, I enjoyed it and it was a nice night for me.
"I'm just glad to get past Judgement Night and I can start looking forward now and focus on the top four

- I dont like individuals or crowds trying to put any player off when they are trying to check out, how anyone can think its okay for the crowd to whistle or shout as someone is throwing for a double is beyond me but it does seem to have become part and parcel of the modern game. I no longer play now, darts is as good as dead at a local level round my way but when i did play many years ago, no matter how intense the rivalry you never shouted out or whistled when an opponent from the other team was throwing for a double.Mysstree17-11-2024
