Gerwyn Price has picked up his first title of 2019 in sensational fashion to continue his brilliant form.
Price defeated Gabriel Clemens at Players Championship 5 in an 8-4 win.
’The Iceman’ averaged 109 en route compared to his opponents’ 92.4.
He hit five 100+ averages on his way to the title with his only two under 100 averages coming early on in the day.
In winning the title today, he saw off Marko Kantele (6-4) , Madars Razma (6-2), Ryan Joyce (6-2); as well as Jonny Clayton (6-5), Ian White (6-2) and Dave Chisnall (7-4).
For Clemens it will be pleasing to be back in the latter stages and knowing he couldn’t do more against a formidable Price.
Scott Baker and Danny Noppert landed nine-dart finishes during Players Championship 5, but both ended up losing their match.
