James Wilson defeated Krzysztof Ratajski to reach the second round of the PDC World Darts Championship for the very first time.
Wilson, now nicknamed as the 'Lethal Biscuit', will now meet reigning world champion Michael van Gerwen in round two. With the win against the Polish ace under his belt, he received a massive confidence boost ahead of the clash with the Dutchman.
"It's a good win for me and I've got massive confidence going forward," said Wilson. "I wasn't nervous but I was getting a few bounce outs and I had to put it in my mind that it wasn't me.
"I tried throwing a bit harder and they just went haywire, so I just went back to my natural throw and hope that they went in and stayed in."

I was there when he (luckily) won the 96 World Championship, I expected him to win and perfom better in the PDC than he did as he moved over so early when he still had good form. - As prize money increases each year and there are now more tournaments then logically breaking the £2 million barrier is going to happen, only thing preventing it is the now deeper strength in depth of the darting field. If you took Taylor’s best two consecutive years and substituted the prize money from now onto the tournaments he won he would have passed the £2 million.Mysstree26-11-2024
