Michael van Gerwen is once again the champion at the Wolves Civic as he has claimed a third successive
Grand Slam of Darts title. Van Gerwen has not lost a TV game since losing to John Henderson at the World Grand Prix and continues his imperious run of major titles which has seen him claim every title since the World Grand Prix ahead of next weekends' Players Championship Finals which you guessed it he is defending and of course the World Championships next month where he is defending.
Once again Peter Wright has been denied by the World Number One and when it was 10-10 it seemed like it was going all the way but Van Gerwen went on a hot streak and won 16-12. 'Mighty Mike' hit a 102.18 with 7 180's and he had a highest out of 146. His opponent averaged 97 and played well but was inconsistent towards the end when it counted allowing Michael to win the Grand Slam once again.
