As has been the case with many
PDC tournaments over the years, the prize fund has once again increased by around 50,000 pounds with the fund being £450,000 this year after being £400,000 over the past few years and the winner will claim only £10,000 more for winning the tournament.
It is good news though not only for Michael van Gerwen who will be after yet another crown at the Grand Slam after winning it for the past two years and he will have Phil Taylor trying to stop him in his final ever event before the World Championships alongside the usual players such as Gary Anderson, Peter Wright, Daryl Gurney and rising star Rob Cross as well as the likes of Glen Durrant, Danny Noppert and Mark McGeeney from the BDO side.
It is also good news for the players who don't even get out of the group as they will still earn £5,000 and £3,000 respectively for doing so.
