Nine players set to retain ever present record at World Cup Of Darts

The World Cup teams were announced and it was revealed that only nine players are still ever present in the tournament.
These include the likes of Toni Alcinas, Brendan Dolan, Mensur Suljovic and Simon Whitlock; as well as Per Laursen and Darin Young.
Two players who have now lost their ever present records as a result of the latest announcement include John Part and Raymond van Barneveld.
Part has been replaced in the team by CDC standout Jim Long with ‘Barney’ replaced at the World Cup by Jermaine Wattimena.
This shows almost a changing of the guard with certain well known players no longer qualifying for the showpiece pairs event in Hamburg.

- Maybe the supposed top players are burnt out from the endless travelling and tournaments, I just don't think they have the dedication or outright desire to win. I think they are more interested in the money and being popular, just keeping their rankings steady. The only thing that mattered to Phil Taylor was winning, not winning a few games to top up the money pot and seeking the fans attention. Maybe there is too many tournaments now and the enthusiasm is gone. This year especially has seen so many different winners and unexpected draws and line ups.richieburnettrocks14-11-2024
