William O'Connor and
Jason Cullen will face off in the final of the Tom Kirby Memorial Irish Matchplay which is the customary route for one Irish player usually Mick McGowan to get to the World Championship.
There was a domestic tournament in Tramore earlier this month to get the two places in the final which will take place on stage at the World Grand Prix at the Citywest Hotel in Dublin.
O'Connor will be known to
PDC fans currently holding a tour card and is a former World Grand Prix, UK Open and World Cup competitor but has never competed in the World Championships so will be aiming to put that right.
Cullen on the other hand will be bidding to secure his place in his first ever PDC televised event with the Wexford based player being a former Lakeside and World Masters qualifier.
Also at the same event,
Nathan Rafferty secured a spot in the 2017 PDC Unicorn
World Youth Championship held at the end of the year defeating Dean Finn in the final.
