The Professional Darts Corporation today handed a massive boost to tour card holders. Commencing in the 2018 season entry costs for the Pro Tour events have been scrapped.
The news comes just a week after the
PDC announced a rise in the q-school entry fee. So it will be a welcome sight to those who will navigate the feed to pick up a tour card in January.
The PDC also announced that UK open qualifiers, and European Tour qualifiers will be included. Total entry costs to players would usually cost around £4000.
In the announcement made via the PDC website, chairman Barry Hearn said: "This is another significant step towards darts becoming a major global professional sport."
