Price had 42.5% on the starting double and 36.7% on the checkouts with 88 being his highest finish. ‘The Iceman’ had a comfortable start to the game winning the first set 3-1 with 75% on his doubles.
In the following set, it was despair for Beaton who missed eleven set darts along the way with Price pinning D11 in the following leg to go 2-0 up. This was the turning point for the Iceman who of course went on to 3-1 overall.
Beaton clinched the fourth set 3-2 and halved the deficit. Even then though he had to work for his lead going 2-0 up before winning 3-2. In the final set, Price coasted to the win with missed doubles the order of day for Beaton who will rue his chances.
