The walk-on ladies were a familiar sight at all major PDC tournaments until 2018. However, they then suddenly disappeared from the scene after complaints that it was sexist.
Afterwards, the ladies disappeared from the spotlight, but they have not been forgotten. On social media, many fans asked for their return and
Vincent van der Voort would also welcome their return. "I would be happy if it happens, but also if it not happens," Van der Voort said in the podcast
'Darts Turns By'. "I know those two ladies who used to do it well."
The two most famous walk-on ladies were
Daniella Allfree and
Charlotte Wood. "They felt bad about losing their jobs. Of course, there was some feminist again who thought it was sexist. But who forgot that it also made a lot of money and work for those women. But then it's all banned and everyone barks up the wrong tree."

Unemployed
Van der Voort finds it quite unfortunate for both ladies. "Those women are balking like hell, because work was just taken away from them. They did almost everything: the Premier League, all the big tournaments and the World Cup. Just count all those days of work. But now they are unemployed."
Besides Wood and Allfree, Dutch Ashley Zaat was also active as a walk-on-girl for a while. Van der Voort jokingly said, "One is now under a bridge and the other is sleeping in her car. Well, count your profits," he cynically points to those who wanted to ban walk-on-girls.
