It was a 91 average with 55% on the starting doubles with 37% on the finishing doubles.
This is compared to Wattimena who averaged only 77 in response with 36% on starting and 18% on finishing doubles.
Also there was 2 180’s with a highest checkout of 104, the best for ‘Snakebite’.
He started off routinely punishing 1/6 on the doubles from his opponent to claim the first set 3-1 and go 1-0 up shaping the rest of match.
Wright went on to checkout 104 to hit the front before Wattimena levelled it up with D16. This was soon cancelled out though with a first maximum and 64 from the Scot gave him the third leg and then he claimed the set.
D16 and D8 started the following set for Wright before he finished the job off to defeat the impressive debutant.
The World Number Two will want to thrust himself into the best player in the world debate and winning the
World Grand Prix this week is sure to do that.
