Smith bows out against Klaasen, Cross defeated by O'Connor

Jelle Klaasen has made it to the final day of the European Darts Matchplay. The former Lakeside champion defeated Michael Smith 6-4 in the second round.

'The Cobra' mainly hurt his opponent with his finishes. Klaasen hit six of his eleven darts on the doubles. Smith only produced a checkout percentage of 28 percent.
Rob Cross was surprisingly eliminated by William O'Connor on Saturday evening. The reigning world champion led 4-2, but saw the Irishman win four legs in a row.
Stephen Bunting and Daryl Gurney managed to win their games after a legdecider. Bunting triumphed 6-5 against Darius Labanauskas, while Gurney needed the full eleven legs against Robert Marijanovic.
