STATS: Glen Durrant tops 180 charts in successful Lakeside title defence

Glen Durrant came out on top at the Lakeside last week, in more ways than one.

Durrant successfully defended his BDO World Championship title by beating Mark McGeeney in a thrilling final. One of the key reasons behind his success was consistent power scoring. The result of that is that Durrant tops the 180 stats for the tournament. Statistician @TheRedBit tweeted a round-by-round summary of the most 180s hit. Durrant comes out on top, with 43 maximums struck. Having done so across six games, the Middlesbrough ace averaged just over seven 180s per match.
Duzza filled up the treble 20 bed the most in both the quarter-finals and the final, doing so 15 times in each match. Scott Waites, who was second in the overall list with 30 maximums, struck a Lakeside-high nine in the semi-finals. Surprise package Michael Unterbuchner managed eight in the preliminary round - four more than Chris Gilliland and Gary Robson. Richard Veenstra was the round one 180 champion, with nine hit. Kyle McKinstry managed eight, the second-most, despite losing against Geert de Vos. In the second round, Jim Williams' 11 180s was unmatched.
