Smith survives spirited comeback from Aspinall and Cross whitewashes Schindler

Michael Smith is through to Round 2 but had to survive a spirited comeback from his opponent Nathan Aspinall. After being 4-0 down, 'The Asp'' hit four consecutive legs on the bounce but it was too much of a mountain to climb and he succumbed in a 6-4 loss on his debut in Hasselt while Michael Smith moves through to play tomorrow in Round 2.
Also joining him is the ever impressive Rob Cross, the new star of PDC darts underlined this with a 101 average and a 6-0 whitewash against the rising star of German darts Martin Schindler and he moves through to play Dave Chisnall tomorrow and will definitely be one of the main threats to the title this week with many of the big names not being there and him having pedigree in this format.
