Michael van Gerwen has asserted his dominance by coming from behind to smash Michael Smith to stay at the top of the Premier League. Last time he faced Smith he smashed in a world record average and tonight he showed he is still capable of that.
’Mighty Mike’ lost the first two legs averaging 75 but clicked into a different gear and won 7 consecutive legs to claim a 7-2 victory over Smith.
Van Gerwen hit a 101 average in his victory which of course wasn’t at his sparkling best but it was enough to defeat an under par Michael Smith.
