So far, only one nine-dart finish has been landed at the Players Championship finals. And that came last year, as
Alan Norris struck gold in Minehead. Taking on
Michael Smith, 'Chuck' followed two 180s with a 141 to make history. He also claimed a cool £35,000 cash prize in the process. Norris averaged a superb 106.24, aided by the nine-darter, in a 6-4 win over Smith. He followed that up by beating Mick McGowan, before Darren Webster ended his Players Championship dream.
Unfortunately, the milestone moment was not caught live, as Norris was playing on board two. This year, the
PDC are live-streaming the board two action on their website and Facebook page. So if more history is made, it won't be missed.
Will we see another nine-darter in Minehead this year?
