Bobby George on not playing at World Seniors Darts Championship: "I'm not going to sacrifice nine months"

Bobby George will be in an ambassadorial role when it comes to the World Seniors Darts Championship early next year with many wondering why 'The King of Bling' isn't playing.

But for George, it is the commitment. He admitted that he couldn't practice for the amount of time required to play.

"It'll be interesting to see how they perform and see how old they look as well," he said with a smile. "It's a good idea I think."

"I'm not going to sacrifice nine months, I've done my bit, I couldn't get on the dartboard and practice, I've got to be committed. I don't think I could be."

Passing of Andy Fordham

He also discussed the passing of Andy Fordham, someone who 'The King of Bling' knew very well.

"It's a shame but he was ill for a long while. He did pack up drinking for 14 years and it still killed him. He overdone it when he was younger, drinking like that your body is going to suffer."
