Former two-time World Champion, Ted Hankey will be sentenced on May 12 after pleading guilty to one count of sexual assault.
Hankey appeared at Warrington Magistrates' Court on Thursday charged with intentionally touching a woman over the age of 16 on September 10 last year with the case adjourned to Chester Crown Court where he will be sentenced.
Previously the CPS released a statement after he was charged.
"The Crown Prosecution Service has authorised Cheshire Constabulary to charge Edward Hankey with the sexual assault of a woman.
"The CPS made the decision to charge the 54-year-old after reviewing a file of evidence from Cheshire Constabulary. The charge relate to an incident that occurred in Cheshire in September 2021."
Famously known as 'The Count', he won the BDO World Darts Championship in 2000 and 2009 and was also a runner-up previously twice.
Earlier this year before the charge emerged, he was due to play the World Seniors Darts Championship but withdrew for personal reasons and has since gone viral due to footage of the so-called Devil's Finish being shared on social media.
