The field of players in the World Seniors Darts Championship will be extended to 24 players, it has been announced.
Fifteen wildcards have already been issued for the inaugural edition of the tournament with the likes of Phil Taylor, Martin Adams, Ted Hankey, John Part and Andy Fordham already announced.

All previous players have been former World Champions and in the coming months, seven more spots will be given out to decorate eligible players.
The two other places will be made available during a qualifying tournament in November 2021. More information about this tournament is not yet known.

- Not a Dobey fan at all but it’s bizarre that the winner of 3 Players Championship rounds does not qualify ahead of any runner up. The GSOD seems to be going the same way as footballs Champions League with a lot of non winners. The old football European Cup was a tournament of winners. GSOD should be for winners only and by tournament prestige and if it’s ranked.
