16-year-old Littler immediately takes big lead on PDC Development Tour Order of Merit

Luke Littler's expectations were high prior to his debut on the PDC Development Tour. The Nuke lived up to the promise by winning two of the first five tournaments.

The 16-year-old Littler is considered one of the best talents in darts in a long time. He crushed his competitors on the JDC Tour and already made his debut at the UK Open in early March. Because of the minimum age (16 years) that the PDC uses for their tournaments, he could only compete on the Development Tour for the first time this weekend.

He reached the final of the second tournament on Friday, but lost to Dylan Slevin. A day later, he won the third tournament of the Development Tour. Sunday he also took the fifth tournament, earning Littler a total of 7,000 pounds during the opening weekend.

Number two Slevin followed well behind with 3175 pounds. Gian van Veen won one of the five tournaments and returned home with £3150 in prize money.

Following him are Christopher Toonders (2575 pounds) and Nathan Rafferty (2000 pounds). Wessel Nijman is in sixth place with 1775 pounds after a creditable weekend. Nijman made his return to the PDC Tour this weekend after serving a two-and-a-half-year suspension for involvement in match-fixing during an online tournament.
